An elegant, full-bodied blend, the 2016 Doctor opens with aromas of black cherry, rose petals, boysenberry and cinnamon stick. Velvety upon entry with intense flavors of bittersweet chocolate, boysenberry and clove, it is lifted by bright acidity and notes of black pepper into a long, sumptuous finish. Pair with a Gruyère grilled cheese sandwich or roast duck in a lingonberry reduction. Drink now through 2030.

Lastly, the 2016 Red Blend The Doctor is a blend of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec, 36% Tempranillo, and the balance Syrah. As with all the 2016s here, it's inky colored and offers terrific notes of black cherries, blackberries, camphor, leafy herbs, and cedar pencil. With terrific elegance, full body, ripe tannins, and a great finish, it's already reasonably approachable yet will cruise for 15-20 years or more.
