The 2021 Sancerre Silex, named after the flint soils on which the vines have their roots, is a typically compact and powerful style, focusing on precision and firmness. There are tangy green characters of gooseberry and nettles, but this is a wine that's not about fruit but drive. Despite an element of texture through the middle, this is an uncompromising style that needs time.
