An incredibly complex and delicious Chardonnay that easily holds its weight against the great masters in Puligny, Meursault and Corton-Charlemagne. Muscular yet refined and finessed, it greets the nose with a hedonistic bou-quet of lush citrus, tart green apples, white flowers, fresh herbs and delicate yet pronounced saline minerals, all supported by just the slightest hint of toast. Laser-precise on the palate with zippy acidity and immaculate detail.

The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos sports a bit of reduction on the nose, but there is power and intensity. The palate has a keen line of acidity with bitter lemon and lime. Taut and fresh, displaying admirable depth, but it needs bottle age to fully cohere. Four or five years in the cellar will benefit this Les Clos. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-les-Beaune.

A suave style, combining peach, apple, lemon and oak spice notes with a velvety texture and vibrant structure. Comes together nicely on the lingering aftertaste. Should be even better in a year or two. Best from 2020 through 2028. 1,250 cases made, 250 cases imported.
