The color is bright ruby, the nose unveils layers of iris, violet, tobacco, black pepper and marasca cherry. The taste is well balanced, tightly knit with supple tannins, mineral notes, a mouth cleansing fresh acidity. Warm and persistent. Pairs best with first courses such as pasta, meat dishes and moderately aged cheeses.

The 2019 Chianti Classico is gorgeous. Bright, floral and punchy, the 2019 is super-expressive right out of the gate. Sweet red berry fruit, flowers, dried herbs and spice all open in the glass, but it is the purity and energy here that impress most. I would prefer to drink the 2019 sooner rather than later, as there is a slight vegetal note that are likely to become more prominent in time.
