Intense ruby red. Aroma is elegant, with notes of sour cherry and raspberry well blended with ripe fruit. Taste is soft, enveloping in the mouth, with soft tannins and good body. Acidity is present but well balanced by the tannic richness. Long finish, with an aftertaste that tends towards sweet licorice. Villa di Capezzana is best enjoyed in company, perhaps during an important dinner or lunch, paired with red meats and roasts, as well as aged cheeses and pasta dishes with flavorful sauces. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 16-18°C, after letting it breathe for at least half an hour. A wine to be savored leisurely, to fully appreciate its nuances and unique notes.

The 2019 Carmignano Villa di Capezzana is youthfully poised with dusty rose, dried black cherries and a burnt orange zest forming its bouquet. This washes across the palate with silky textures and ripe red fruits, gaining tension through a mix of saline-tinged acidity and sour citrus notes. Its tannins come on strong through the finale, coupled with a saturation of primary concentration and mineral tones as petty inner florals slowly fade. The 2019 is packed full of potential but will require patience.

A slightly brooding red, with firm tannins underlying plum, cherry and earth flavors, while accents of iron and tobacco emerge on the solid finish. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2027.
