Cacao Prieto was founded by Daniel Prieto Preston, an inventor and aerospace engineer, whose family has been farming organic cacao and sugar cane in the Dominican Republic for more than 100 years. Organic sugars from the Dominican Republic, as well as organic cacao beans from the family's Coralina farms, are transported to Red Hook, Brooklyn, where they are expertly transformed into artisanal rum, liqueur and chocolate.
Thanks to the success of the first Widow Jane release, Cacao Prieto has now added a ten year old expression to their impressive portfolio. As with the original five year old bottling, Cacao Prieto hand-selected a barrel of ten year old Kentucky Bourbon, which was transported to their Brooklyn distillery and cut to proof with pure limestone mineral rich water from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York. An inviting nose of toffee, caramel and dried fruit leads to a complex, medium-bodied palate offering bold notes of ripe cherry and citrus fruit. Hints of burnt orange and baking spice emerge on the light tannic finish.
Adult Signature is required for every shipment.
