The 2015 vintage has a very deep garnet color, amplified by superb purple hues. It reveals fresh aromas of peppermint combined with notes of orange peel and cocoa. Mix with the aeration of the fragrances of white flowers, blueberries and light vanilla plum compote. The full-bodied and powerful attack develops on raspberry and cedar notes. The mouth is supported by a texture of chalky tannins, conferred by our clay-limestone soils on which our Merlots flourish wonderfully. It concludes with a fresh and lively finish.

Good bright medium red. Aromas of raspberry, rose petal, minerals and crushed stone convey a very sexy, slightly high-toned liqueur-like quality. Dense, fine-grained and taut, displaying piquant mineral energy and mouthwatering acidity to its flavors of raspberry, cherry and blood orange. Really compelling inner-mouth tension here. This firmly tannic, classic 2014 finishes with lovely rising floral length. I would not be at all surprised if a decade of cellaring brought an even higher score.

Dry and firm, this is a structured wine. It has hints of dark chocolate with seriously dry tannins. The acidity at the end hints at fruitiness in the future.

Very fine and silky with polished and tight tannins. Medium to full body, currant and mineral aftertaste.

A blend of 62% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Château Lilian Ladouys is a serious Saint-Estèphe that shines in a vintage which was more difficult for the northern portions of the Médoc. Possessing medium-bodied notes of currants, dried herbs, spice and hints of background oak, it's nicely balanced on the palate, has fine, ripe tannin, moderate density, and an undeniable charm that will keep it drinking nicely for 15 years or more.

On the softer side and relatively open-knit, with a mix of blood orange, red currant and bitter cherry fruit gilded with hints of lilac and tea. A little shy on stuffing through the finish, but offering charming fruit. Best from 2020 through 2028. 25,000 cases made.
