Cantele Salice Salentino Riserva 2015
|Region||Italy, Puglia, Salice Salentino|
Color Ruby red color with garnet streaks. Bouquet The nose is intense and complex, with notes of candied fruits and spices that evolve into clean underbrush, tea and amber hints. Flavor Enhanced by notes of red flowers, the aromas return on the palate transported by confident but not overbearing alcohol. The tannins and fresh acidity work in counterpoint to create a balanced, smooth wine.
This fresh, medium-bodied red shows a lovely mix of ripe red and black fruit, currant, raspberry and blackberry flavors, with light, creamy tannins and hints of iron and herb. Drink now through 2024. 16,700 cases made, 900 cases imported.
Bright dark red. Aromas of red berries, tar and licorice. Then enters fruity and rich, but turns austere in the middle, finishing with good length but a little lean. A blend of roughly 95% Negroamaro and 5% Malvasia Nera (that is co-planted in the older vineyards).
Aromas of cola, anise and brandy-soaked dark cherry mark the nose, with peppery spice lingering in the background. The palate is rather soft and easy in feel, yet there's just enough acidity to keep it lifted. Cherry and crushed pepper mark the short finish.
Adult Signature is required for every shipment.
