The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is dark and brooding, mixing ashen stones and grilled herbs with dried black cherries and ground cloves. It washes across the palate with soft, generous, energetic textures, with masses of ripe red and black fruits that slowly drench the senses in primary concentration. Despite its power, the 2020 finishes spry and lively, leaving hints of sour cranberry over a layer of sweet tannins.

There's an intense, fruity profile to this wine, with almost cooked cherries, crushed violets and a touch of citrus. The attack is firm with chalky tannins and chewy acidity. Medium-bodied with a chewy finish. Drink or hold.

The bright red 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is enveloping on the nose with notes of mossy earth, crushed strawberries, orange peel, walnut liqueur, and pine. Medium-bodied, it offers zesty acidity, although it feels a bit lacking through its concentration. That could flesh out with some time, but it doesn't feel completely in sync. It has fine, dusty tannins and a salty finish. Drink this over the coming 8-10 years.
