Lush layers of black cherry that evolve into darker hued fruits with savory spice, black tea and hints of wild mushrooms all swell to a finish that leads to a full-bodied, sumptuous character that is ready to drink but will also go the distance. The 2020 Barolo Monfalletto is a pretty serious wine. Dark and ample, with big tannins, the 2020 is a rich, dense Monfalletto that is going to need a number of years to come into its own. This is an especially dense, potent La Morra Barolo built on texture. Red fruit, blood orange, spice and new leather underscore this very rich wine.
