At its heart, this Cabernet from the Holbrook Mitchell Vineyard expresses a cool elegance that is rare in Napa Valley Cabernets. Smooth, crisp black cherry fruit envelops nuanced cedar notes. Wrapped around the black cherry core are hints of thyme, sandalwood and cinnamon stick. This profile creates a juicy, fruit forward Cabernet that plays well with any cuisine, enticing your palate for another sip, and another bite. Soft velvety tannins entwine with elegant fruit on the finish.

From Yountville, on the western side of the valley, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Holbrook Mitchell Vineyard sports a vivid purple color as well as vibrant notes of blueberries, spring flowers, menthol, bay leaf, and sappy, pine forest-like nuances. Despite the fresher, vibrant style on the nose, it brings plenty of richness on the palate and is full-bodied, has some grippy tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. It certainly has a green edge (not vegetal) and should benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age.
