Sweet and delicate aromas of rose water and strawberries are counterpoised by licorice and tar on the nose of this wine. This balancing act is echoed on a palate that feels gorgeously crunchy with fresh cherries and cranberries, but is also earthy and savory with soil and coffee grinds. Tannins, acid and heat walk a tight rope between refined elegance and raging intensity.

The 2017 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva takes on a darker, more reserved tone in its notes of black cherry, blackberry, licorice, and leather. Generous and full-bodied, it is approachable up front, with juicy and sweet ripe fruit, black cherry candy, lavender, and iron-rich earth. The two wines are a wonderful lens into the contrasting vintages of 2018 and 2017, and both have a lot to offer. Drink 2025-2040.

A lush red, both dense and voluminous, featuring plum, black cherry, tar, soy and stony flavors backed by beefy structure. Shows good acidity, if a little muddled in the end. Best from 2025 through 2042. 600 cases made, 300 cases imported.
Adult Signature is required for every shipment.
