pale gold colour. The nose shows a classic combination of light citrus fruits and a complex stony/mineral influence, almost unusual for this cuvée. The 2019 vintage shows a remarkable balance and structure on the palate. It will certainly age longer, and with a youthful personality, compared to previous vintages. The mouth is quite concentrated, with a surprising firm acidity that brings salivation and a very clean dry finish.

Aromas of forest floor and white pear flesh waft out of the glass, offering just a hint of petrol. This is a handsome wine, with perky acidity and white melon notes set against a backdrop of wet slate, lemon zest and evergreen trees. The finish takes an earthy turn, which only makes it feel all the more like you're in the forest or in the presence of a very tasteful cologne. As the long finish wears on, some of that white pear reappears. It invites you to keep sipping.
