Dusty and floral, the 2021 Pinot Nero Red Angel opens with a display of roses, cloves, incense and dried strawberries. This sweeps across the palate with a juicy wave of ripe wild berry fruits and mineral tones, taking on an unsavory herbaceousness toward the close. The 2021 finishes tart and with an earthy tinge that lingers on. I tasted this twice from two separate bottles, both under screw caps and with nearly identical results.
