Pale ruby red, Sul Vulcano offers an elegant bouquet with notes of red fruits (raspberries and cherries) along with hints of fresh balsamic mint and delicate spicy nuances of white pepper. The palate is fresh and with a good structure, full of silky tannins and with a balanced and persistent finish. Perfect with Mediterranean antipasti and first courses based on eggplant or mushrooms, meat and roast stew. Pairing options are numerous: from North-American cuisine (chicken wings, hamburgers) to moderate spicy Asian dishes (beef stir-fried, dumplings) to fusion cuisine like Tex-Mex based on meat and beans. Serve at 18 °C.

The 2019 Etna Rosso Sul Vulcano lifts from the glass with a rich and slightly confectionary bouquet, showing sugar-dusted black cherries, licorice and dried roses. It's silky-smooth, quite elegant in feel, as ripe red and black fruits wash across the palate, leaving a staining of minerality and subtly grippy tannins in their wake. There's a hint of custard and balsam herbal tones that linger through the finale, as this tapers off lightly structured and tart. The Etna Rosso Sul Vulcano is primarily Nerello Mascalese with a dollop of Nerello Cappuccio.
