A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc brought up in 50% new barrels, the floral, spicy, incredibly complex 2016 Château Vrai Canon Bouché offers vibrant acidity that's balanced nicely by depth of fruit. Black cherries, blueberries, violets, and some candle wax notes all emerge from the glass. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade or more.

The perfume of the 40% Cabernet Franc in this blend gives it great style and balances the rich Merlot. Tannins and black-plum flavors are prominent, giving the wine structure as well as fruit and promising aging. Drink from 2023.
