The 2019 Montefalco Rosso is youthfully coy and understated, as sweet smoke gives way to blackberries and lavender. It's silky in feel, with minty herbs adding lift and tart woodland berries and minerals settling upon the senses. This finishes structured and persistent with a coating of primary fruit that lingers. While the Montefalco Rosso is generally considered an immediate wine for early consumption, the 2019 has the balance and structure to excel through short-term cellaring. This is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 15% Merlot.
