The 2016 Moulin-à-Vent comes across as a more subdued version of the 2015. It has tons of richness and power, but at the same time, it is bright, delineated and full of energy. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, white pepper, mint and spice all meld together effortlessly. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2016 retains striking translucence. There is plenty of potential here.

This wine expresses the structure as well as the richly perfumed fruits of the appellation. Its dry core is still present, keeping the wine fresh for its maturity. Let this wine wait a little longer and drink from late 2020.

A focused, sinewy Gamay, with solid concentration to the ripe cherry and raspberry notes, underscored by hints of bitter chocolate and licorice. Details of herb and fresh earth linger into finish. Drink now through 2033. 1,300 cases made, 150 cases imported.

The 2016 Château Moulin A Vent comes from the Moulis region in the Médoc. This pretty, juicy, medium-bodied effort has a lively style in its blue fruits, violets, and incense. Slightly lifted, with bright acidity, and moderate depth, it's a solid effort to drink over the coming 7-8 years.
