Medium garnet in color with reddish-brown reflections, intense aromas of black cherries, dried roses, licorice, and potpourri pour out of the glass. The aging regime on this wine has made the tannins velvety without taking away from the wine's age worthiness. Pairs well with elegant dishes such as perfectly-grilled steaks with red wine sauces, slow-braised beef with pearl onions, and roasted lamb shanks.

Aromas of French oak, underbrush, dried herb and a whiff of woodland berry lead the nose. The taut linear palate is still youthfully austere, offering sour cherry, cranberry and star anise alongside tightly knit, close-grained tannins that leave a firm dry finish. Give this plenty of time to come around. Drink 2023-2033.
