Intense ruby red in colour. The nose exhibits lovely fresh, crunchy fruit, enriched with mineral and spicy notes. The palate is medium bodied with hints of red berries. The elegant, silky tannins are wholly enveloping and velvety-soft. The finish is pristine, clean, and vivacious.

The 2020 Bolgheri II Seggio is a gorgeous, complex wine. Sweet herbs, tobacco, mocha and cedar open on the effusive, inviting bouquet. Pliant and racy but not at all heavy, II Seggio is another inviting wine from Poggio al Tesoro. All the elements are so nicely balanced. This is so refined.

This leans to the racy side, displaying lacy blackberry and black cherry fruit, with licorice and mineral accents. Though fluid midpalate, this has some tannins that need to be resolved. Firm finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2025 through 2039.
