Impressive and full of personality with a distinct, territorial imprint. When tasting the Nerello Mascalese from Masseria Setteporte one can almost imagine the steep, high altitude vineyards which cling to the slopes of Mount Etna in the red, mineral, volcanic soil of the Biancavilla area.
Vinification:
Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with skin contact for about 8 days and 2 to 3 days of pumping over. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques, 20 % of which are new oak.
Ageing:
12 months in French barriques, followed by a minimum of 8 months in the bottle.
Characteristics:
Taste: Intense ruby red colour. The bouquet is intense, ample and pleasantly fruity with hints of red fruit and wild berries, Mediterranean herbs and flint. The taste is long lasting, dry and elegant.
Decanter

Fresh lifted nose of cranberry and tobacco leading onto a palate exploding with pomegranate juice, mint and chocolate. Finely grained tannins line the finish, with a touch of green at the back. Drinking Window 2018 - 2025
