Winemaker Notes
The cooler climate grapes lend a savory, spicy character with refreshing acidity and balanced alcohol. The warmer climate grapes give the wine a more forward fruit character and add suppleness and earlier drinkability.

Coming from a mix of sites and a blend of 82% Syrah, 13% Grenache, and the rest Tempranillo and Mourvèdre, the 2018 Syrah Central Coast sports a saturated ruby/purple color as well as peppery, crunchy notes of blackberries, black raspberries, leafy herbs, and peppered meat. This elegant, medium-bodied, spicy red has loads to love and will evolve for a solid 7-8 years.

Though founder Bob Lindquist is no longer part of this winery, the brand still delivers value-driven Syrah. Aromas of roasted meat, black pepper, lavender and light berries kick off the nose, while the savory palate blends pepper, crisp fruit and dried herb flavors into an easy-to-quaff, light-bodied expression.

The 2018 Syrah (Central Coast) is bright, fruity and very easy to like. I would prefer to drink this vinous Syrah over the next few years, while the fruit retains its youthful energy. Sweet red/purplish berry fruit, mint, spice, rose petal and lavender build into the exuberant finish.
