Disznoko Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos 2002 500ml
Progressing from golden to deep amber depending on its age. Great precision and finesse in the nose. When young, Disznoko Tokaji Aszu 6 puttonyos buzzes with freshness: citrus, honey, tropical fruits. Over 10 years old, it has developed even greater aromatic complexity with the emergence of dried fruits, spices (mints), tobacco box and toasted notes. Creamy and full-bodied, while retaining the distinctive Disznoko freshness. Intensity combined with finesse and a lingering finish. Opulent and elegant.
Wine AdvocateThe 2002 Tokaji Aszu 6-Puttonyos is a blend of 75% Furmint and 25% Zeta, the aszu added to the fermenting must and macerated for 48-60 hours. It has a dense, exotic, quite spicy bouquet with plenty of honeyed fruit, apricot jam and marmalade notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a seductive, viscous entry, well-judged acidity and a plush, honeyed finish infused with dried fig, kumquat and marmalade. It feels long in the mouth, with a hint of spice on the aftertaste. This is a marvelous Tokaji aging (slowly) with style. Drink now-2040+.
Wine SpectatorA zippy version, with lemon, orange peel, honey and mineral flavors. It's mouthwatering and on the lean side, but long and satisfying. Best from 2010 through 2025. 1,861 cases made.
