Vinous"Dark ruby-red. Black cherry, licorice, dark chocolate and some sexy oaky high tones on the nose. Suave, oak-influenced flavors of blackcurrant, mocha, espresso and licorice are a bit medicinal in a positive way. Finishes with densely packed, fine-grained, horizontal tannins and surprising lift for a wine from this hot, precocious site. The silty, warm soils here typically yield rich, jammy fruit, according to McKee. Rating: 91+"

Wine Enthusiast"This 100% varietal from one of the state’s oldest vineyards brims with aromas of dark roasted coffee, char, bittersweet chocolate and black cherry. Flavors show plenty of concentration and depth with a lingering, cocoa and vanilla-filled finish."

Wine & Spirits "Here’s a cabernet with sumptuous oak accents, from cedar to caramel and coffee. The structure is oak-driven as well, an ample frame for the dark plum and cassis elements provided by Cold Creek, one of Ste. Michelle’s older estate vineyards."

Wine SpectatorBright and jazzy, with a blast of cherry, mint, blackberry and spice playing against tangy acidity on a sinewy frame and persisting on the lively finish. Drink now through 2020. 13,800 cases made.
