Hugel Classic Pinot Gris 2012"Classic" Pinot Gris is one of the Hugel family secrets first released with the fabulous 2006 vintage. This new release is from a drastic selection of the best grapes purchased from winegrowers under long-term contract in a dozen of the most favored localities in and around the village of Riquewihr and includes an sizable amount of grapes declassified from some Grand Cru vineyards of the Hugel estate. The hand picked grapes were taken intact to the presses, filled by gravity, the must decanted for a few hours, then fermented in temperature-controlled vats with natural yeasts. The wine is the purest expression of the grapes, with a very natural and non-intervention vinification.

Domaine Fougeray de Beauclair L'Ormichal Blanc 2014The family business of Domaine Fougeray de Beauclair began in the mid 1970's when Jean-Louis Fougeray made his very first cuvee. Today the 54 acre estate stretching from Marsannay to Savigny-les-Beaune, is run by his daughter and her husband is the winemaker. This true family business is a superstar domaine that manages to keep its prices within reason. The grapes for this Chardonnay come from vineyards between Marsannay and Fixin. The vines are 25 years old. It spends 8 months in used oak barrels. It has beautiful citrus fruit, good acidity and balance. It finishes with lovely freshness on the palate. The elegance and precision in this wine are often associated with a higher pedigree.

Palate: Fresh and dry, sapid, with pleasant delicate and fine feel. Food Pairings: Seafood starters, fregola (small balls of semolina) with crustaceans, fish stews, bass with artichokes, soft-textured medium mature cheeses.

PRA Soave Classico 2015The wine has an attractive lemon colour and a bouquet bur- sting with notes of flowers and crisp fruit. Aromas of haw- thorn and jasmine are particularly prominent, as are exotic yellow and white fruits such as peach and apricots. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and flavoursome, full of fruit, with clear mineral notes. The wine is easy drinking and has an aftertaste of hazelnuts and nutshells. FOOD PAIRINGS: This wine may be served as an aperitif and pairs excellently with elegant raw fish dishes as well as delicate starters. It also pairs well with sweet Parma ham. Excellent with pasta or rice based fish dishes and fresh cow's milk or goat's cheese.
Alexander Valley Vineyards Gewurz 2015In the glass the 2015 has the classic floral, tropical aromas of grapefruit, stone fruits, pear, and minerals. The flavors are similar to the aromas highlighted by apple, pear, grapefruit, spice and a round rich mouthfeel. There is a nice acid balance on the finish. Winemaker Kevin Hall says: "This wine fools you with the sweet nose, but in the glass the flavors surprise you with minerality and bright acidity". Slow fermentation in new French oak and 3 months on fine lees are the secrets of this careful production process. TASTING Straw yellow with golden hues. Very bright and clear. A perfect triangle of lees-minerals-acidity gives it a lovely sensation of plenitude, freshness and complexity. In the retro-nasal phase the profile totally changes. The pineapple and citrus fruit come to the fore and much more faintly, you can detect very fine oaky spiciness of great quality.
