Fruscalzo Pinot Bianco 2014 750ML
About the wine: Made from grapes grown on hillsides in the commune of
Ruttars. Yields are modest at 50 hectoliters per hectare and the vines of a
very good age (45 years old) – this would be called a ‘vieilles vignes’ (old
vines) cuvée in France. The grapes are vinified and aged in stainless steel to
maintain aroma and freshness. Once bottled the wines are kept for six
months and then released for drinking.
Aroma: Flowery notes intertwined with hints of buttery brioche - also showing
hints of mineral and soil – complex and exciting.
Taste: Medium-bodied on the palate with great texture and depth. Expansive
and pillowy wine with great presence and length. Perfect food wine.
Completely dry and therefore more refreshing (unlike so much pinot blanc
from Alsace with noticeable levels of residual sugar). This is a very high
quality wine from the much underrated pinot bianco grape.
Food pairing: Perfect with fish, white meat dishes, light pasta dishes, risottos,
and softer cheeses. Also very pleasant drunk on its own.
Adult Signature is required for all the shipment.
