Boutari Boutari Nemea 2009 750ML 2009
Wine SpectatorFilled with juicy notes of dried red fruits and spice, this shows plenty of vanilla overtones, with light smoke and ginger notes on the finish. Drink now.
Wine AdvocateThe 2009 NEMEA, Boutari's appellation Agiorgitiko, is low in alcohol (12.5%) and aged in Limousin (French oak) for 1 year. Soft and friendly this year, with a ripe edge cut by a little acidity, it is an elegant and laid back wine that should make a nice party pleaser. Power and complexity are not what this is about, of course, and it has little concentration. It is very tasty, though, and if you don't obsess too much you may find it growing on you, the brightness giving it a little vibrancy as it airs out. Last year's version, I think, had a bit more steel, but this has its charms. It should hold, but it is quite likely at or near peak right now. Drink now-2016.
