Ramey Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2015
As traditionally practiced in Burgundy, we used an anaerobic approach to preserving the freshness and fruit characteristics of our Pinot Noir. It was aged sur lies with monthly bâtonnage and spent thirteen months in 30% new French barrels (François Frères & Demptos) and neutral barrels that were previously used for Chardonnay. This wine was lightly fined with egg whites and bottled without filtration.
Our first Russian River Valley Pinot Noir strikes a fine balance between rich, unctuous styles and leaner, coastal styles. It is at once both elegant and delicious.
This vintage's blend sourcing is: 47% from Westside Farms, 39% from Bucher Vineyard and 14% from Keller Estate. Our Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of Dijon clones 115, 777 and 828 (the La Tache selection) and two heritage selections, Pommard and Swan.

Wine EnthusiastSourced from Bucher Vineyard on Westside Road and Platt Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, this wine is light-bodied and fresh on the palate, offering baked raspberry, cardamom, clove and forest flavors.
Wine SpectatorThe presence of new cedary oak is a dominant theme and fruit is not equal to the wood. Nothing extraordinary but it's not in harmony right now. Drink now through 2022. 437 cases made.
