Chionetti Dogliani San Luigi 2015
Born in 1912, the Chionetti winery was founded by Giuseppe Chionetti, grandfather of Quinto Chionetti, who for about two years has chosen to leave the company reins for his nephew.
After about eleven months of rest in steel barrels, the Dogliani DOCG "San Luigi", manufactured by Chionetti, is ready to offer a nice, flowing, rich and generous sip.
Intense ruby red with purple reflections. It comes to the smell with rich fruity notes, recalling pomegranate and red berries, and are embellished with subtle memories of licorice and field flowers. Fresh but still balanced taste
Food Paring: Vegetable Lasagna, Pasta Meat sauce, Risotto with Mushroom, Roasted-Grilled meat, White Meat stew.
A full-bore version, with aromas of black pepper settling into blackberry, leather and tar flavors. The dense tannins are assertive. This needs time to show its best. Best from 2018 through 2023. 2,500 cases made.
