Briego Crianza 2009

Out of stock

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

This is a three-year-old wine, which has spent 8 months in American oak and 6 months in French oak, before resting in bottle. Still showing a youthful red cherry colour. Deep and brilliant with soft lilac tones in the rim. Strong characteristics of the Tempranillo grape variety. Ripe red fruits aromas - blackberries, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, etc. - followed by delicate notes of tobacco, caramel, eucalyptus (menthols), wood ageing characteristics - cinnamon, vanilla, cumin, etc. All provide the qualities of a great wine full of expression and complexity. On the palate it is velvety, delicate, generously mouth-filling and offers a pallet of exciting flavours (ripe fruits, pastry, jam…). This wine should be opened 15 to 20 minutes before being served.

Wine AdvocateThe 2009 Crianza comes from 20-year-old vines in Penefiel and aged for 14 months in used French and American oak. It has fine delineation on the nose with raspberry preserve and cassis aromas, and hints of incense emerging with time. The palate is smooth and silky with plush dark cherries and plum notes, leading to a svelte, finely focused finish that is caressing and long. This is a lovely wine, a delicious Ribera del Duero. Drink now-2016.
