Château Teyssier

Château Teyssier, is award winning, spicy, velvety, and ripe, but above all, pivots on its expression of fruit. The wine originates from the communes of Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens and Vignonet. These communes provide terroir that produce a wine that may be attacked on release or laid down for a few years. The approach in winemaking, which has all the benefits of the modern equipment afforded by the more senior wines, is new world in style.

Wine Advocate

The 2006 (90), which I did not review in my report published in issue #181, is an outstanding success as well as a sleeper of the vintage. Its dark ruby color is accompanied by plenty of black fruit, licorice, earth, and spice characteristics. It should drink nicely for 8-10 years.

Score: 90. —Robert Parker, April 2009.
