St. Michael-Eppan Pinot Grigio 2008
St. Michael-Eppan Light green lustres run through the straw colour of this wine whose aroma is rich in fruits, the most striking of which are pears. An excellent acidity balance gives this wine strength and structure . It is dry and smooth on the palate, and leaves a long, pleasant aftertaste. The Pinot Grigio goes well with many dishes, especially lighter foods, to which it is an exellent accompaniment. It is served chilled and also bestows a fine taste following longer ageing. Wine Spectator Displays spicy apple and peach notes, with silky mineral character. Medium-bodied, with clean acidity and a fruity finish. Subtle and layered. Drink now. Score: 90. —James Suckling, August 31, 2009.Wine Advocate The 2008 Pinot Grigio is a terrific example of Alto Adige Pinot Grigio at this price point. Steely, cool and reserved, the wine reveals plenty of varietal aromas and flavors in a focused style. Readers will have a very hard time finding a better Pinot Grigio for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011. Score: 87. —Antonio Galloni, August 2009.Customers who purchased this item also bought:
